our own sense of time

today marks the day that i've decided to alter my blog to seem a little more proper, instead of what i view to be a tacky blog. i'm changing it's appearance ever so slightly; slowly i am continuously working towards its end product, and hopefully soon i'll create and add a banner that isn't just a photo i've taken.

there are a number of compelling developments taking place in the life of claudia currently. primarily, claudia is currently almost finished her 3 semester of uni. secondly, she is working very hard on a short one minutes experimental film for one of her assignments (featuring her favorite model frand clare). thirdly, for the past couple of weeks claudia has been working (not really), taking photos for alhambra lounge. fourthly, claudia is heading overseas in less than five weeks with jacob, joseph, jacinta (feel pretty left out with a c as my first name). fifthly, splendour week follows this. sixthly, my birthday follows splendour week the week after. after august i dont want to plan. life seems to be throwing me pleasant lemons, i'll surely be making some tasty lemonade with it.

so as stated above i am taking photos for alhambra lounge both saturday and lambda night thursdays. today i provide some of my favorite photos from the past few weeks to surface (probably not the best as the best was a pic of bewbies of a drunk acquaintance with the same name as me decided to pull out, but for her sake i am not allowed to expose to the world). more photos can be found on the alhambra lounge fb album and lambda fb album that are under the names claudia / claudz / clowdia or whatever reuben decides is appropriate for that week.

jordan - half of party-goers, toomba djs

dana - architect of nonsensically succulent drinks

glass towers - band that bree the rabbit lady, whom lives with chloe, is infatuated with (these two phenomenal girls that i have become more and more acquainted with lately, and very happy to do so)

jacob - the bearded man who has stole my heart and life from me

annabelle - curiouser and curiouser as my photo fetish of her grows and her friends

jesse - red-haired babe that parties too hard for me to keep up with

random - perhaps one of my favorites because reuben's flash has gone off in the background, and this girl had no clue of the situation infront of her

todd - photo man who stole my flash to illuminate the splendours behind the beard

adrian - i got him banned for this (his idea to steal it, then show me after he stole it), i'm sorry adrian

chloe - roller-derbying wonder with the fringe i wish her to cut me but wont

rohan - other half of the reckless toomba djs, this one allowing me to capture his arse and have it plastered on the lambda page

party goes - partying hard with glow sticks for the daft punk ram release

some beauty - chomping on glow stick

claudia - (not me) batty girl in every photo, sweetheart in the flesh

70s revival hippie - looking top notch in her cute outfit

alex - a beauty in every photo i've taken of her, working magic and parting the light of the glowstick from the glowstick

allday - some hiphop guy speaking to a very captivated audience, then playing

jenny penny - my asian living the #asthmalyf

strangers - connecting their matching attire to bring the audience great humour

nelson - dissimilar to jesse, another party goer that i cannot keep tabs on

jesse - kool thing

mas adventura por favor

the most relaxing album that i could live vicariously through, whilst potentially transforming into an icelandic person, is valtari. according to my instagram, it was fourty-nine weeks ago that i posted a photo of me lying in my bed “streaming #sigurros #valtarihour from #brisbane #australia with my Shingle Inn cookie. album sounding as glorious as per usual, claps to you sigur ros <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3”, to quote myself exactly. almost a year later and the opening sounds of ega anda excites me tremendously, the climax of varu∂ still sends shivers up my spine, and valtari continues to makes claudia melt in pleasure.

for the duration of my overseas trip at the beginning of this year my ears listened vicariously through all of this music, providing a soundtrack to my adventures. so today i post about galicia and bilbao, two places i visited in spain, seeing through the beauty my eyes absorbed and with a whisp in my ear.

my time in spain began in moares, a small farmer town of perhaps less than twenty people in the provence of rois in galicia. in my lifetime i have travelled moares, my nanas home town, six times, so everything is quite familiar to me around there. the fresh smell of the greenery mixed with cow droppings becomes a second nature, gumboots become necessary, running after and capturing a chicken with one hand becomes effortless, living on bland food becomes constant, and having not much to do but talk to yourself becomes a habit one might consider slightly psychotic. in moares, many years ago i discovered a little ditch with a stream bellow it that looks out upon all the mountains and windmills of the area - too me this is the most splendorous place in the world. most of my time outside of the farm was visiting family in nearby provinces or cities. after two weeks in moares i went on my twelve hour bus ride to bilbao, alone, to meet up with other relatives, specifically a cousin of my age elizabeth. along this tedious trip, the bus advertised that it had “free wifi” which i spent a continuous twelve hours battling it’s dreadful connection (i might also mention, the spanish call wifi ‘weefee’, and it’s exceptionally humorous listening to them pronounce it).

upon arriving to bilbao i was met graciously by my entire family from there, whom took me home and fed me up. during my three nights staying with my cousin and some family members we managed to visit a lot of bilbao’s beauty, including the guggenheim and el puppy. on my second night elizabeth and i went out and experienced carnaval spanish style, then partied in a tobacco-stained hardcore bar with her under 18 friends. following in the true suit of teenage party times, two of these girls ended up crying on the streets and spanish policemen stood around and watched bulk loads of 15 and 16 year olds drinking kalimotxo (red wine and coke, the teen drink of spain) whilst doing nothing about it.

a few days later i arrived in london, greeted by the ever-so-wonderful anthony, who took me under his wig for our week together. <--- coming next time on claudia’s blog. for now, here are some photos of my time in spain.

walking to our airplane from isreal to spain

the loveliness of moss stained walls, this being the path that leads to my favorite look out

scythe -  i can cut grass and kill people like the grimm reaper

dawgie barking at me from my window

small suburb in galicia's carnival, where they dress ridiculously and drinking on the back of trucks

bilbao - spider outside the guggenheim

el puppy

night of bilbao's carnival

churreria. these are the original churros. no matter what kind of churros you have had in any part of the world, there is nothing that can compare to churros made in spain, where they were first created. they also create monster churros and churros with frosting and sprinkles (as seen bellow)

carnival funny

carnival funny two - amish man and his children on his wheely-thingy

carnival in spain is meant for all ages getting sloshed on the streets. it's quite intriguing to see the family costumes that are worn, for example the flinstones..

so as i preached above, here is some beauty

my farmer aunty and i, and my next blog discussions with anth by my side. ta ta for now.
